About Cheryl

Cheryl Goff was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, where she began her professional life as a paralegal. Her career later took her to Richmond, Virginia, where she held a position with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. In 2002, Cheryl and her husband moved to Vero Beach, drawn by the lifestyle and sense of community they found on the Treasure Coast.

After settling into life in Florida, Cheryl discovered her passion for real estate. Her first role was with an exclusive boutique buyer’s agency, where she assisted the broker with administration and transaction coordination. That behind-the-scenes experience gave her a strong foundation in what it takes to make a real estate transaction run smoothly.

Cheryl soon began working directly with buyers, guiding them toward their dream Sandcastle—whether that meant a home, condo or seasonal getaway—throughout Vero Beach, Sebastian, Fort Pierce, Hutchinson Island, Port St. Lucie and communities in Brevard and Martin counties.

Over the years, Cheryl has helped hundreds of clients find their ideal Sandcastle. Many of those clients have returned to her again and again when buying or selling, a testament to the trust she works hard to earn and maintain.

Cheryl recently joined North County Properties and Investments, an exciting next step in her real estate career. This new chapter gives her the opportunity to continue expanding her work in luxury homes and new home construction—two areas she has long wanted to pursue more deeply—while continuing to provide the personal, detail-oriented service her clients have come to expect.

Her background in both the legal and real estate worlds gives her clients a valuable edge. She is known for being thorough, responsive and highly attentive to the many details involved in buying or selling a home. She consistently ranks as a multimillion-dollar producer and assists clients in a wide range of price points.

She currently serves on the MLS, Professional Standards and Grievance committees, as well as the Board of Directors and the Habitat for Humanity Task Force. Her continued service has earned recognition from both the RAIRC Honor Society and the Florida REALTORS® Honor Society.

Her professional designations and credentials include Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) and Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP). Cheryl also holds the C2EX endorsement and At Home With Diversity® (AHWD) certification.

She supports several local nonprofits, including Little Birthday Angels, whose mission is to “provide a birthday celebration for every homeless child living on the Treasure Coast of Florida” (littlebirthdayangels.org); Indian River Habitat for Humanity (irchabitat.org); and Coastal Connections Sea Turtle Conservation’s Adopt-A-Nest Program (coastal-connections.org).

Whether clients are buying, selling, building or exploring the Treasure Coast market, Cheryl is happy to share her market knowledge, professional experience and steady guidance. Now with North County Properties and Investments, she looks forward to helping even more clients take the next step toward their perfect Sandcastle.

Reflections From 2023!!

Sometimes good things truly do come to those who wait.

I rarely share stories about my closings because they are all very special to me! As I reflect on 2023, there is one closing that holds an extra special place for me this year! It reaffirmed that actions have value and meaning—and doing the right thing can lead to future clients and referrals when I least expect it.

Nine years ago, I spent time showing homes to a mother and daughter who were part-time residents from Canada desiring to purchase a second home here. While temporarily leasing a property in a local community during their stay, they spotted a flyer on the clubhouse bulletin board advertising a home they believed matched exactly what they wanted. They decided to call the seller directly, to deal directly with them, and ultimately purchased the property without my assistance. Now, I could have become angry, but I didn’t.  Instead, when they reached out to thank me for my help, I responded graciously and left the door for any assistance they might need in the future.

Fast-forward to the present: the daughter tracked me down out of the blue to ask if I would meet her brother and sister-in-law to offer them guidance on listing the home they had purchased here. But here’s the catch: I’m not even with the same brokerage I was with back then. To find out where I’m working now, she had to search for me. So she Googled me and then emailed to ask, “Are you the Cheryl that I engaged with back in 2014?” I actually had to stop and think about it for a few minutes because I’ve dealt with many people since then. I recalled our prior meeting and was elated that she reached out. Her brother and sister-in-law, co-owners on the home, were coming to town and she wanted to arrange a time for me to talk with them. After meeting and speaking with them, they decided to engage my services.

Their property went on the market on a Friday, and, after receiving and reviewing multiple offers over list price, we were under contract the following Monday.

What’s so special is that they elected to seek me out. There are many local REALTORS® they could have chosen to engage with, considering I haven’t been in contact with them on a regular basis. They received marketing materials from many other agents through the years, and they know people in the neighborhood from whom they could have requested a recommendation.  Despite this, they remembered that I had acted professionally, provided them with valuable information on the area and gave them insight on what to look for in purchasing a home in Florida; they wanted to ensure I had the opportunity to try to assist them further! It was truly an unexpected blessing! Good things take time!!
